The Seasons Are Changing, So Should Your Skin Care Routine

As summer comes to an end, fall is quickly approaching. After months of the Texas summer sun, your skin could use a refresher. Looking good as you age starts with a great skincare routine. The humidity changes as the season transitions to fall as the temperature drops. This is why it is essential to switch up your skincare regimen with the change of season to ensure you take care of your body's largest organ.

HYDRATION IS KEY

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Even as the colder months approach, ensuring we drink enough water is essential. Drinking enough water will help your skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles and acne. In addition, as you grow older, it is more challenging for your body to retain moisture, so inputting more water into your system, you are helping your body, and your skin stay hydrated.

GENTLE CLEANSER

It is essential to remove the impurities and dirt from our skin to have a fresh, glowing face. While some cleansers for dry skin contain harsh detergents to get squeaky clean, a gentle facial cleanser is best to remove impurities, yet avoid stripping your skin of the natural oils that keep it hydrated and healthy-looking.

QUALITY SUNSCREEN

This one may seem redundant, but it plays a crucial role in healthy skin: wearing a QUALITY sunscreen daily. UV light can penetrate the clouds and reach your skin, whether rain or shine. Sunscreen is crucial because skin damage is the number one cause of skin cancer, not to mention it will also cause brown spots and wrinkles. As a general rule of thumb, it is essential to ensure your SPF is above 30. And let's remember the importance of reapplication once every 2 hours.

EXFOLIATE

Lastly, I recommend exfoliating your skin once a week. Removing dead skin cells is one of the best ways to reinvigorate your skin and remove any grime and impurities. Exfoliating weekly is a great way to keep your skin looking fresh and ensure other products are well absorbed.

Let's make dry skin a thing of the past and jump into a new routine!
