FAQ’s

WHAT exactly is Nitronox?

Our Nitronox machine is a combination of both 50% N2O and 50% O2. N20 is an abbreviation for Nitrous Oxide also commonly referred to as “Laughing Gas” and makes up 50% of the tank. The other 50% is made of O2, or “Oxygen”. The mixture of the chemical compound N2O and the chemical element O2 create the effect of Nitronox.

WHich procedures or treaments are compatible wth nitronox?

Nitronox is utilized to help alleviate discomfort or anxiety during minimally invasive procedures preformed by Dr. Sherry Wehner, MD and her highly trained Medical Assistants and Aestheticians. Procedures that have been reported to have benefited the experience and comfort levels during treatment include;

PDO Threads

Injectables (Botox, Fillers)

Plasma Pen

Platelet- Rich Plasma services, or “PRP” treatments

Tattoo Removal

and more.

What are the effects?

The Nitrous oxide works to slow down your body's responses, and the effects of the mixture will vary depending on how much has been inhaled. As this is a self-administered system, you, the patient, have complete control of the amount that is being inhaled. The effect is often reported as a feeling of euphoria, deep relaxation and calmness. You may also experience fits of giggles and laughter – hence the nickname 'laughing gas'.

Will it put me to sleep?

No! The 50% mixture of N2O and 50% O2 is a ratio that is not strong enough to provide anesthesia to our patients, this way you will be safe to drive home after the procedure but still gain the calming effect of the Nitrous Oxide. You will be conscious, fully aware and responsive, and breathing on your own the whole duration of use.

IS It safe?

Yes! Use of the Nitronox system is 100% safe and effective. This combination of gas has been utilized for well over 100 years during dental and medical procedures.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN numbing creams or agents and use of nitronox?

At Anew You our primary goal and objective is always the comfort and care of our patients with delivered and effective results. We always use a topical numbing agent when preforming minimally invasive procedures to take discomfort out of injection sites. For more intrusive procedures an injectable numbing agent may be administered on an as needed basis instead. The Nitronox machine can be used as a second step to insure optimal patient comfortability, it is not used as replacement but more so as an extra layer of comfort security.
