FAQ’S
What is the Plasma Pen, and what does it do?
The Plasma Pen is the hottest new aesthetic treatment available since 2020, and Dr. Sherry Wehner is proud to bring it to YOU here in San Antonio at Anew You. The Plasma Pen regenerates collagen and firms and tightens skin practically anywhere in the body WITHOUT EVEN TOUCHING YOUR SKIN! Many “plasma pens” from different companies are popping up now that this technology has become so rapidly popular. Still, as always, Dr. Sherry and her staff have extensively researched all the other models available and concluded that the Original is the Best! Therefore, Anew You is proud to exclusively offer the Louise Walsh Plasma Pen, the first one initially introduced in Europe and still manufactured in Germany. This is the same Plasma Pen featured on The Doctors and used in all the original publications that all the other plasma pens compare themselves to. It’s like the “Botox” of neurotoxins or the “Juvederm” of fillers. And Dr. Sherry and all her staff have been personally trained and certified by Louise Walsh’s lead trainer from London, England. As always, we strive for only the best for our valued clients at Anew You!
How does it work?
The Plasma Pen uses electrical energy and converts it into an energized gas above the skin surface, which reacts with the skin to cause tiny areas of “controlled tissue injury” in the form of “micro-burns.” As the body repairs these minor injuries, fibroblasts are naturally recruited to the site and lay down new collagen, causing an overall “shrinking,” tightening, and skin lifting.
What areas can be treated?
Practically any area of the Face and Body can be treated! However, some of the most popular regions are the Upper and Lower Eyelids and Crow’s feet (nonsurgical blepharoplasty), Neck (nonsurgical neck lift), Jawline, Facial Fine Lines, Pigmentation (uneven skin discoloration), Small Blood Vessels on the face and other areas, Nasolabial Folds, Lip Lines, Acne Scars and Other Scars, Arms, Abdomen, Above the Knees and Inner Knees, Buttocks, Breasts, Hands, Forearms, Inner and Outer Thighs, Lower Legs, Stretch Marks, Mole Removal, Skin Tag Removal, and More!
Is it painful?
Everyone has a different pain tolerance level, but the procedure is generally mildly to possibly moderately uncomfortable. We will numb you ahead of time with a solid, specially compounded numbing cream, and most people describe the procedure as a mild tingling sensation.
How long do the results last?
A long time! The exact time varies from person to person, just like any aesthetic procedure, including plastic surgery, but in most cases, the results last at least three years to permanently. Remember, we continue to age, so even plastic surgery is not “permanent.” But by regenerating collagen, we are actually slowing down or even temporarily reversing the aging process, and those results do not suddenly “disappear.” So a touch-up every few years should keep your marks at their best!
how much downtime is there?
Please remember that one person’s idea of downtime may vary significantly from another person’s. However, you will likely experience minor redness, swelling, and tiny scabs in the area treated for about one week after the procedure. It would be best if you plan your work and social schedule accordingly. Remember, some people don’t have any problem with going to work and just letting people know that they had a procedure performed, while for others, this would be embarrassing, and they would want to take some time off from work or at least work from home while healing.
How much does it cost?
This varies by area, but most areas cost between $800 and $1,750. Depending on how many places you are getting and what other services you may be getting, we are always happy to put together a package that will save you some money and get you the best “bang for your buck,” We also have different specials every month!
